MATERNITY LEAVE (Rule 101 (a))
Regular superior and inferior female Govt Servant
are entitled to maternity leave with 90 days full pay for government maternity
benefits. It may the earned leave
account. It must be up to 90 days from the date of commencement in all cases. (SR
1 under FR 101, G.O.Ms.No.384, Fin. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Dept., Dt.05.11.1977).
Previous Newborn baby is given regular leave in case of maternity leave
in case of illness, which is subject to female government. The servant who
produces the medical certificate that the condition of the sick baby requires
the personal attention of the mother and that her presence on the baby side is
absolutely necessary. (GOMs.No.2391, Finn., Dt.03.10.1960).
All HODs and other competent authorities may grant
maternity leave to women employees. Servants under their control subject to the
limitations set forth in SR under FR 66.
Types Maternity leave may be granted in addition to
other types of leave (Ruling 2 under FR 101).
Women teachers working in educational institutions under the Body Local Bodies, i.e. Zilla Parishads, Panchayati Samiti and Municipal Councils, and Aided Management, are entitled to maternity leave for a period of 90 days from the date of commencement:
a. If it falls during the working year of the academic year, 90 days can be
granted as maternity leave
b. 90 days leave can be given if the leave period falls, and if there is
any residual period after enjoying the leave, up to a maximum of 3 months is
considered maternity leave.

Facility A similar facility has been extended to women teachers in government. Educational Institutions. (GOMs.No.562, Edn. (H) Dept., Dt.23.06.1981).
Provisional Women Government may give maternity leave earned at her credit to a servant who is in superior or inferior service and up to 90 days maternity leave for maternity benefit. This position remained in place until 24.06.1984. From 25.06.1984 the Provisional Women Government was entitled to 90 days maternity leave equal to that of the General Government. Servants without having to pay for their earned leave. Rules apply to granting maternity leave in detention cases. GOMs.No.219, Finn. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Section, Dt.25.06.1984).
Maternity leave is given to women government in prison cases. Servants with two surviving children less than 18.03.92 (GOMs.No.38, Fin. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Department, Dt.18.03.1992). That means maternity leave should not be given if there is a government. The servant had two children.
Author A competent authority for a married woman government can grant maternity leave with full pay. Servants are subject to the condition of granting more than two surviving children over a period of 120 days. (GOMs.No.254, Fin. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Section, Dt.10.11.95). The extension of 120 days will be extended to those who are already on maternity leave on the date of issuance of the above orders. (GOMs.No.283, Fin. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Section, Dt.27.12.92)
Child A female government regardless of whether a child is born or the twins are born in second or subsequent custody. The servant is entitled to be granted maternity leave if only one child born earlier survives. (GOMs.No.37, Fin. & Plg. (FW.FR.I) Section, Dt.26.02.1996).
The benefit of increasing maternity leave from 90 days to 120 days has been extended to women teachers working in aided institutions on par with the government. It is subject to the condition that it be provided to servants and those with less than two surviving children. (GOMs.No.69, SE (PS.1) Section, Dt.06.06.2003).
Managing Director, EP Women's Cooperative Finance Corporation Limited and Director of Women's Development and Child Welfare to make special provisions in the contract agreement regarding female employees who are entitled to 45 days maternity leave and 45 days equivalent lump sum. Salary during maternity leave. (GORt.No.197, WDCW & DW (Estt.) Dept., dt.14.05.03).
Competent authorities can grant 120 days maternity leave without remuneration to married women panchayat secretaries appointed on contract basis. (GOMs.No.254, PR&RD (Mdl.II) Section, Dt.31.05.2007)
Govt grants full paid maternity leave
to married women employees of the state government. Increased from 120 days to
180 days, equivalent to government employees. Subject to the condition that it
should be granted only to less than two children of India. (GOMs.No.152, Fin.
(FR.I) Section, Dt.04.05.2010).
Can someone please help by clearing my doubt. I am doctor and working as an assistant professor in telangana , government hospital. How many days maternity leave am i eligible and what are the benefits I can get if any? Please help
